Discipline is not a switch you flip when the stakes get high. It is a habit you build every single day. Yeffet learned that during his 37 months in the Israeli Defense Forces, serving as a Major Sergeant in the Artillery and Bomb Squad Unit. In that environment, shortcuts were not an option.

“You learn very quickly that details matter,” he explains. “In that environment, there is no room for shortcuts.”

That same mindset carried into his work in real estate and infrastructure development, where the margin for error is thin and the consequences of weak planning can ripple for years. He has seen projects fail not because the vision was wrong, but because the execution was sloppy.

“Discipline is not something you turn on later. It becomes part of how you think and act every day.”

Planning Is Where Results Are Built

A weak plan produces a weak outcome. Strong planning allows everyone on the team to execute with confidence. When you invest time upfront in mapping the details, checking the assumptions, and stress-testing the logic, you save yourself from chaos down the road.

Yeffet has managed the development of over 100 projects and owned north of 50, including concrete superstructures, energy supply systems, power plants, and major roadways. Every one of those projects started the same way: with a plan.

“If the plan is weak, the outcome will be weak,” he says. “Strong planning allows the team to execute with confidence.”

Planning is not glamorous. It does not get the headlines. But it is the foundation for everything that comes after. Without it, even the best team will struggle.

You Cannot Do It Alone

No matter how skilled or experienced you are, great projects are never done alone. You need the right people, and you need to trust them. Yeffet emphasizes that teamwork is not just about dividing tasks. It is about building relationships where people know they can rely on each other.

“Great projects are never done alone,” he says. “You need the right people, and you need to trust them.”

Building trust takes time. It takes delivering on commitments, showing up consistently, and proving that you can handle the hard moments.

“Relationships are built on trust and results,” Yeffet notes. “If you deliver consistently, people want to work with you again.”

In real estate and infrastructure, the complexity of each project requires engineers, contractors, local experts, and government partners. Coordinating that network requires clarity, respect, and shared accountability.

Long-Term Thinking Over Quick Wins

Infrastructure is not about building something quickly. It is about building something that works for decades. Communities depend on the roads, the power systems, the facilities that get built. If they are poorly designed or poorly executed, the damage compounds over time.

“Infrastructure is not just about building something quickly,” Yeffet says. “It’s about building something that works for decades.”

Short-term thinking leads to short-term results. Long-term thinking requires you to look beyond the immediate deadline and ask what will still matter five, ten, or twenty years from now.

“When you build a community, you are building something that continues long after the project is done. It creates stability and connection.”

That perspective shapes how Yeffet approaches every project, whether it is in New York, Jerusalem, or across Africa. The goal is not just completion. It is contribution.

What You Can Do This Week

You do not need to manage a construction site or lead a global project to apply these principles. Execution starts small. Here are ten actions you can take this week:

  1. Block 15 minutes each morning to plan your top three tasks for the day before you open email or start reacting.

  2. Review one ongoing project or commitment and write down the three biggest risks or weak points in your current approach.

  3. Identify one decision you have been avoiding and set a deadline to make it by the end of the week.

  4. Ask one person on your team or in your network what they need from you to do their job better. Then follow through.

  5. Audit your calendar for the past two weeks and identify where you spent time on things that did not move you toward your goals.

  6. Write a one-page plan for a project or goal you want to start. Include the outcome you want, the steps to get there, and the timeline.

  7. Choose one habit that supports discipline in your life and commit to doing it at the same time every day for seven days.

  8. Reach out to someone you worked with successfully in the past and reconnect. Strong relationships compound over time.

  9. Take one task you normally rush and slow down to focus on the details. Notice the difference in quality.

  10. At the end of each day, write down one thing that went well and one thing you will improve tomorrow.
